When the housing market was in the deepest recessionary pit, we used to reminisce about what we called “the days of oysters and champagne.” The good ole days. The days when business was strong, deals happening, and confidence high. Well, after nearly a week at the 2015 International Builder Show (IBS), having enjoyed both oysters and champagne, it seems as though the good times are back. The strongest impression is that people were in Vegas to do business. It was incredible. Every taxi, every elevator, every cocktail party, we talked to strangers and the proposals immediately started flying. It was thrilling!
On the public relations side, we had a number of clients exhibit, speak, and participate in media interviews at the show. Forrest Performance Group’s Jason Forrest led three engaging sessions on topics including how to conquer your toughest sales challenges, the return of the sales warrior, and closing strategies for the new economy. Avid Ratings had a large exhibit booth to showcase its new game changing products including GoTour ONSITE, the first-of-its-kind beacon-based technology to be utilized in this manner in the home building industry. MBK Homes spent significant time meeting with vendors and walking through the exhibit halls on the lookout for the latest and greatest products to bring back and start using in their new home communities.
On the marketing side, we attended a variety of informative classes, reviewed projects with clients, had drinks with colleagues, and networked our tails off. Big shout outs to the Builder Tech gang, the Zillow/GE/New Homes directory gang, and the Trulia builder team for generously hosting fantastic evening events. And we congratulate all the winners at the 2015 Nationals awards show for excellence in the builder industry.
The new business proposals are being written, the projects discussed are queued up, and the team is rested. See you at PCBC!
